We booked this hotel as an add-on to our Summer week in North Conway. What a wonderful surprise. Pulling into the parking lot it looks like a standard “quaint” motel. Even walking into the room, although veryclean with the cutest quilt bed spreads, there was nothing really remarkable about it. However, after a day walking around North Conway the room gave us it’s real worth. The air conditioning worked beautifully. It is a window unit which is expected to be a little more than average but it kept the room perfectly cool for the entire night. The beds were heaven. Just soft enough to be cozy but not so soft that we woke up with back aches. There were plenty of pillow. Not the 1/2 pillows you see at some of those cut rate motels but full sized comfy pillows. The next mornings shower had plenty of hot water and the towels, although not super “fluffy”, were large. As a larger person having a towel that can wrap around me instead of the face cloths that most motels provide was a wonderful addition. I had forgotten my hair dryer and the one in the room was clean and worked perfectly. The location of this motel is just outside the main town. Well within walking distance of the beautiful town of North Conway.
We have stayed here every year for the last 4 years. Was very sad to hear that it was sold. The old owners where always very pleasant and detail oriented. You would see him out cleaning the pool ever day. This year the pool was dirty every time you went in, bugs, and leaves floating along with dirt in the bottom. I even saw a couple of guest cleaning some stuff out of the pool. Sure hope this is not a sign of things to come. The rooms where clean but the house keeper we have gotten to know over the years was getting done that week too. I hope the new staff can keep up to the standards.
My little family and I stayed here this past weekend while we visited Mt. Washington. Rooms are dated, but very clean! The pool was awesome and they offer propane grills for their guests to use which we took advantage of. Nil and his family are great hosts! They are friendly, helpful, and super accommodating. We traveled about 7 hours round trip to spend a day there and Nil allowed us to make the most of the trip and use his facility as much as we wanted. Unfortunately, the young lady working the front desk does not follow their lead in this department. She was cold, unfriendly and rude. They have a fire on Saturday nights but with the iffy weather we were experiencing, I asked if there would be a fire that night. Nil said yes, we could head over at 7pm. We packed up our baby and headed to the front of the building (our room was down the hill in the back). There was no fire going and when we asked the girl if there would be her response was “No, Nil left 20 minutes ago and told me to call you to tell you there would be no fire, but I didn’t.” Thank you for your honesty, but you are rude and lazy! Even with this interaction, I still give this place 5 stars. I cant fault Nil or his motel for one person. It was evident that the family was trying their hardest to make the motel a great place for guests to be and I understand that as an owner, you cant be at the front desk at all times. I just hope this review will lead to a great training opportunity so other guests can feel welcomed no matter who is at the front desk.
Cozy clean hotel with close proximity to town . Rooms are a little older but as previously stated kept clean . I think it was the owners working and they were super nice even let me borrow a wine key for a nice bottle of port we had .
We needed an inexpensive place to sleep for 1 night and this was the answer. The room was a bit dated but warm, clean and efficient. Lots of great tv channels too. The staff was kind and accommodating. They serve coffee and hot chocolate in the morning. And the beds were soooo comfortable with memory foam mattress toppers! We would absolutely come again!
Recently spent a night at the Colonial Motel after a day of skiing. The room was clean and comfortable and was within walking distance to the center of town. Very reasonable rates but the chairs in the room could use some updating.
My family and I stayed at the Colonial Motel in North Conway, NH. It’s located within walking distancemany stores and restaurants. The room was clean and had everything that you need for an overnight stay. The staff was friendly. There was even ingredients for smores in the office that you could collect and take to the fire out front.
I liked that the parking spaces were numbered. You just park in the space that corresponds with your roomnumber. No need to drive in circles looking for somewhere to park.
