Our story is part of North Conway
Colonial Motel has welcomed visitors with an old-fashioned approach to hospitality: a friendly greeting, clean and comfortable accommodations, and a convenient place to return to after a day out. Family-owned and operated, the motel sits along White Mountain Highway, a short walk from North Conway Village.
The experience of staying here is closely tied to the place around us. North Conway is a year-round mountain destination, known for its changing seasons, scenic drives, village shops, and outdoor adventures. We’re glad to be a home base for guests discovering it for the first time or returning to favorite places.
A place in the White Mountains
In autumn, the mountains turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold. The foliage season can begin in late September and continue into October, making the valley a memorable destination for a weekend away, a family trip, or a scenic drive.
Guests can follow the Kancamagus Highway between North Conway and Lincoln, explore Crawford and Pinkham Notches, or take in mountain views from Cathedral Ledge and Mount Washington. Local trails offer time among the changing leaves, while the Conway Scenic Railroad provides a relaxed ride through the landscape.
The village and valley, through the seasons
There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the foliage. Stroll through downtown North Conway, find a local meal, visit nearby orchards and farm stands, or browse the tax-free shops at Settlers Green and along Route 16. In every season, the Mount Washington Valley offers a different way to spend the day—on the trails, at an attraction, or simply taking in the scenery.
Colonial Motel is about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Boston and an hour-and-a-half from Portland, Maine. Ask at the front desk about discounted attraction tickets and our Settlers Green coupon book.
An earlier chapter in local history

The Eastman Homestead, circa 1880, is one glimpse into North Conway’s earlier story. The original Colonial Motel history page identified the homestead by name and date, preserving this local-history reference alongside the motel’s story of welcoming White Mountains visitors.
Colorful mountain days, a welcoming village, and a comfortable place to come back to—that’s the North Conway experience we’re happy to share.
